Our clients appreciate the craftsmanship and detailing seen in antiques, yet require furnishings that suit modern-day needs. They desire one of a kind pieces in which they can define their needs, contribute to the design process, and select from a wide range of marvelous woods. Our shelves are available through the locally owned/operated Q Street Fine Crafts at 88 Q Street in “The Avenues”. Q Street is noted as one of the best places in Salt Lake for a wedding gift. In 1975 1976 Walrus woodworking opened a custom furniture gallery we named “The Squirrel Sanctuary” at 88Q Street. It is great to have our work back on some hallowed ground of fine crafts. The last image is of a new installation showing a lesser wall cleat showing. This media table is made from curly hard maple, with a single piece claro walnut top panel, leg sabots are of eastern walnut, top panel insert is a four piece matched claro walnut in end grain. The chest of drawers is client designed. This chest is made from Pennsylvania cherry. The handles and knobs are cocobolo, the drawer sides are quarter sawn sycamore. This piece was made in 2005, and a superb example of client involvement.
