Morrison Meat Pies was established here in Utah in 1883 and is the fifth oldest food manufacturing company in the United States. Its flagship product is the authentic Scottish meat pie which was the first convenient ready-to-eat food prior to the advent of hot dogs and hamburgers. The current owners, Eugene & Susan Tafoya are the fifth-in-line owners of the company and have expanded the product line to include authentic "Aussie" pies in Lamb, Peas & Potatoes, Steak & Mushroom, Chicken & Vegetable, Vegetarian, and Spinach & Feta as well as a line of breakfast pies. In 2007, in a joint venture with another local company, Morgan Valley Lamb, Morrison's was selected by the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development, for a grant to help promote and grow lamb consumption in the U.S.
