Café Mergót Espresso Bar, Smoke Shop & Hookah Lounge
Café Mergót started out in October of 2010 as Uncommon Grounds Cafe & Coffee House. After six months of business, and many requests for cigarettes and tobacco supplies, we decided to change our name to Café Mergót, which in french means "coffee and cigarettes", and in May of 2011, the name was changed. We still remain at 136 Historic 25th Street, in Downtown Ogden, Utah, in a 4,200 square foot building, of which 2,100 square feet are utilized on the main level as the store, and the remaining 2,100 square feet are used as storage in the basement. We have had several ghost hunting groups, tour through our basement in search of spirits not yet passed over. We offer a wide variety of drinks including 7 different fresh brewed gourmet coffees, espresso, cappuccino, lattes, 10 blended iced coffees, 8 flavors of Chai Tea, 11 flavors of gourmet hot cocoas, italian cream sodas and smoothies available in any flavor imaginable. We have several different options for snack items like, pizza, chili, soups, churros, pretzels and more. We do carry a few hot sandwiches that many say are the best in town...Our pulled pork sandwich is made of fresh hickory smoked pork, topped with gobs of barbecue sauce on a bolillo roll. Our meatball sub is made with italian meatballs, our own sauce, topped with tons of mozerella cheese, toasted and served on a fresh kaiser roll. Within the walls of Café Mergót, you will find a smoke shop complete with cigarettes, cigars, loose tobacco, hookahs and supplies. On the other side of the room, the hookah lounge, where you can order a bowl of herbal molasses shisha, sit back and enjoy the experience with your friends, and in between, you will find several comfortable sofas and a warm fireplace. You will also find for your enjoyment, lifesize checkers, and an antique chess set. On most Friday and Saturday nights we host many local bands and musicians with no cover charge. We also encourage local artists to display their work in our shop to sell to the general public.
