Jaleh Afshar
Ms. Afshar's style of graphically-designed painting incorporates comic-style portraiture along with the use of typography paired with faux-collage, that is, the pieces are wholly created by Jaleh while having the appearance of found objects or exterior images. Typically using a mix of acrylic and ink, her artwork is unconventionally framed by being duct-taped to large pieces of wood and then wrapped with wire to hang. Jaleh’s work has been displayed in popular venues including the Springville Museum of Art, The Schorr Gallery, The Meyer Gallery, Fivepoints Arthouse, Frosty Darling, Slowtrain, the Kayo Gallery, and Chester’s Blacksmith.
